Poems, Pics, Stories, and Jokes to help people laugh, smile and learn:
If you are one of the following:
- You have been to Idia, Zambia or Zimbabwe
- You are India, Zambian or Zimbabwean
- You can write humourous poetry
- You are a WRITING/PUBLISHING College class
- You are a WRITING Club
- You have an interesting photograph or picture from these countries you would like to share
- You do not mind donating one or more of your poems to H.E.L.P. International
- Youu know these countries well enough to moderate our poems/pics/ stories/jokes based on authenticity and likely impact.

We need help with fund raising and raising awareness of issues or local interest.
Write a short poem or story about India, Zambia or Zimbabwe on given topics
- Local threats to the environment such as an active local practice or something neglected
- Something humourous you have encountered locally.
- Something the locals could improve without help from government or from abroad
- What intrigued you when you visited
- What you tell your friends about your visit to one of these countries.
- .
- We are looking for something maybe full of humour and causing readers to think about the place in a positive and hopeful way, without taking away the real situation of the place.
- Avoid political issues as they are not a healthy area for such as charities
Length
- We are thinking of three categories,
- Less than 25 words
- Less than 200 words
- Less than 500 words
- Local poems
- Local pictures or photographs including cartoons
- Local stories
- Joke with a local story in it.
- Must be authentic, politically correct, and not offensive to most reasonable people.
Uses:
- To inform by tickling the mind a point at a time
- To cause discussion on issues
- To get people to laugh or smile
- Fund raising for the orphanages
Submission dates:
- We would like this to be ongoing but we will release the submissions 50 per country at a time. The first 50 to come in about India, we publish. The first 50 to come in about Zimbabwe, we publish, and so on. Each batch of fifty will be allocated an appropriate batch name. We also publish the time it has taken to gather the fifty. This is calculated in days from the submission of the first poem/story or joke of that batch, to the date of the fiftient item.
- Each submission is looked at by some volunteers and they vote independently to include or exclude the submission depending on what they percieve to be the likely impact of the item.
- Each item will carry the writer's name.
Require:
- Writers: who can write authentic pieces.
- Assessors: 10-15 per country, possibly those who actually live in the country
- You can make as many submissions as possible.
How to submit
- Write your piece and submit it as an attachment to helpinternational03@yahoo.co.uk
- We will take the time and date it shows up in our INBOX as the submission time.
- include your name, address, global position, and the name you want to be known as when publishing.
